ABOUT

What Are Dental Implant Bridges?

Dental implant bridges, also known as implant-supported bridges, are a solution designed to replace multiple missing teeth in a row, offering a fixed and permanent solution. Unlike traditional bridges, which rely on adjacent healthy teeth for support, dental implant bridges utilize implants as the foundation. The implants are strategically placed into the jawbone, providing the necessary stability and support for the bridge.

Who is a Good Candidate for Dental Implant Bridges?

Adequate Jawbone Density

Sufficient jawbone density is crucial for successful implant placement. However, even if you have experienced some bone loss, our team can evaluate options such as bone grafting to support the implants.

Overall Oral Health

Good oral hygiene and a healthy mouth are essential for the long-term success of dental implant bridges. Any existing dental issues, such as gum disease or tooth decay, will need to be addressed before the implant procedure.

Non-smokers

Smoking can negatively affect the healing process and increase the risk of complications. Non-smokers tend to have a higher success rate with dental implant bridges.

BENEFITS

What are the Benefits of Dental Implant Bridges?

One of the main benefits of bridges is that they do not depend on the patient’s teeth for support. This means there is no need to alter or modify healthy and undamaged teeth to accommodate the bridge. The bridge itself provides the necessary support and stability, allowing patients to maintain the integrity of their natural teeth. This can be a significant advantage for individuals who are concerned about preserving their dental health and avoiding unnecessary dental work.

Improved Appearance

Dental implant bridges are custom-crafted to match the shape, color, and size of your natural teeth, providing a seamless and aesthetically pleasing smile restoration.

Enhanced Functionality

These bridges restore your ability to chew and speak with ease, allowing you to enjoy your favorite foods and social interactions without limitations.

Long-lasting Solution

Dental implant bridges offer exceptional durability, potentially lasting a lifetime with proper care and maintenance.

Preserved Jawbone Health

By integrating with the jawbone, implant bridges help prevent bone loss, maintaining your face’s structure and youthful appearance.

Well, I'd gone to a couple other dentists and one wanted the moon. Another one said, oh, no, you don't need to do that. We can just put Marilyn bridges in and all this stuff. And it was like, I know my mouth better than you do. A friend of my husband's had his mouth reconstructed here. He was very happy. And my husband said, Try them. Dr Hannah was wonderful. Walked me through it and I said, "let's do it". He's very kind and compassionate. His whole staff is. They're wonderful. I don't cry like this, but when people are that nice. I had a full mouth reconstruction. I had terrible teeth due to terrible dentistry as a child, and then pregnancies. And I had an accident in Mexico and totally messed my grill up, so I had to get it done. And I'm very happy I did. All the front office girls, they're fantastic. All the dental techs have been wonderful. And Dr. Hannah oh, my God. Is just amazing. Terrific care, Beautiful smile now.

Well, I was a classic tooth abuser, a dental hater. I hadn't been to a dentist in 18-20 years. A long time. I didn't like them. So I didn't go and thinking that teeth would be nice. I was used to having no teeth, almost. I chewed them out. Then I said, okay, this is the way to do things is dental implants. I knew that. So I started looking into that. Dr. Hannah's ability to move back and forth. The communication, it was done with respect, and the office is done well. And so that was always a positive thing, the interaction between the various levels of skill and knowledge. I'm satisfied. Yes, it is a process, and the process is working well.

I highly, highly, highly recommend Dr. Hanna. I did my research, you know, and Dr. Hanna had the best reviews. So, I came to meet them. The surgery started at 8:00 AM. They extracted 19 teeth and placed the temporaries - no pain at all. We were about to celebrate our 10th anniversary, my husband and I, and my teeth were in such bad condition. I used to smile, but always covering my mouth. The whole process was explained to us, and we decided to go for it. So, I got teeth - it was amazing. I could finally chew properly. My teeth were discolored. I had only one functional tooth for chewing - it was painful. My gums were receding. I have been coming here for cleanings and maintenance ever since, and everything has been wonderful. Now, I can bite into an apple or enjoy a piece of steak without any issues. I can't stress enough how much I recommend them - if you're considering something like this, I highly, highly recommend him. He's also a pleasant person. He's genuinely nice and always welcoming. The experience is just great. He's personable and a perfectionist in his work. He extends that professionalism to his staff as well. So, I definitely recommend him.

PROCEDURE

Dental Implant Bridge Procedure: What to Expect

When it comes to dental implant procedures, the process is typically done in stages.

Our experienced team at Hanna Dental Implant Center is dedicated to providing comprehensive care and customizable solutions to ensure the best possible results. Remember that the process can differ slightly from patient to patient, and, in most cases, the implant can be a same-day procedure. This means you can confidently walk into Hanna Dental knowing you can leave with a fully restored smile.

Step 1

Implant Consultation

The first step is to visit Dr. Hanna for a comprehensive oral exam and consultation. During this visit, he will determine if dental implants are the right option for you and create a customized implant placement plan.

Optional Step

Pre-Treatment Surgeries

Depending on your specific case, you may require additional treatments such as tooth extraction, bone grafting, or alveoloplasty to prepare your jaw and mouth for implant surgery. Dr. Hanna will discuss these treatment options with you in detail if necessary.

Step 2

Implant Placement

During the next appointment, Dr. Hanna will clean and numb your mouth and surgically place the dental implants into your gum and jaw tissue. The area will be sutured shut to promote healing. If you require multiple implants, this process will be repeated accordingly. A temporary implant-supported restoration will be placed to ensure you walk out with a beautiful smile.

Step 3

Healing, Recovery & Osseointegration

It typically takes around 1-2 weeks for the implant site to heal and feel relatively normal. However, the process of osseointegration, where the implant permanently bonds with your jaw bone and gum tissue, can take up to 6 months. You will need to attend follow-up appointments to ensure proper healing during this time.

Step 4

Building Implant-Supported Restoration

Your final implant-supported restoration, such as a dental bridge, crown, or implant-supported denture, will be custom-crafted by a dental lab. Dr. Hanna will take impressions and images of your teeth for this purpose.

Step 5

Placing Your Abutment

A few weeks before your final appointment, an abutment will be placed on your dental implant. The abutment securely connects the implant and implant-supported restoration and must be in place before completing the implant.

Step 6

Restoring & Completing Your Implant

Once the abutment is attached and your implant has fully healed, you will have a final appointment with Dr. Hanna. He will ensure that your implant-supported restoration fits properly and bond it into place. You will receive instructions on how to care for your implant, and you can leave with a brand-new smile.

Implant FAQs: Your Questions Answered

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

How long does a bridge with implants last?

Taking good care of your implant bridge can help extend its lifespan. It's important to maintain the health of your jawbone through regular use and proper nutrition. By doing so, your bridge can last for up to 20 years or even longer.

What is a bridge dental implant?

Implant bridges are a dental solution that utilizes implants placed in the patient's jawbone as a foundation. The restorations, which replace the teeth, are visible on top. This approach helps preserve nearby teeth, maintain the jawbone's structure, and retain the patient's smile's natural shape.

What is better, a tooth implant or a bridge?

If taken care of properly, implants can last for many years, even a lifetime. They also adapt more easily with neighboring teeth than dental bridges, which can weaken nearby teeth and eventually lead to tooth loss over time.

What are the problems with dental implant bridges?

In some cases, individuals may experience an allergic reaction or rejection of titanium dental implants. Although titanium is commonly used for its benefits, those with metal allergies may be recommended to use zirconia as an alternative material by their dentist.
